2nd Annual Poster Blitz in Psychology of Health and Wellbeing

1. Event Overview
The Annual Poster Blitz in Psychology of Health and Wellbeing is a research-focused event for Iscte Master’s and PhD students conducting research in this field. This event is a joint initiative of the Master’s in Social Psychology of Health and Wellbeing and the Health4All Research Group of the Centre for Psychological Research and Social Intervention (CIS) at Iscte. It provides a platform for Master's and PhD students to present their research projects, regardless of their stage of completion, and to receive constructive feedback from peers and faculty. By welcoming projects at various stages, this event aims to support students in refining their work and advancing their research skills.

2. Objectives
  • To provide Master’s and PhD students with an opportunity to present their research in a supportive academic environment.
  • To offer students the opportunity to develop communication skills through two components: visual (scientific poster) and verbal (short presentation), enabling them to deliver short, concise, and impactful presentations.
  • To offer Health4All PhD students an opportunity to develop academic skills regarding in organizing scientific events.
  • To offer participating PhD Students the opportunity to develop mentorship skills, which are a valuable and recognized competence across a variety of work fields.
  • To encourage collaboration among students and researchers from diverse backgrounds, particularly among H4A and the Master’s in Social Psychology of Health and Wellbeing, and to extend its reach to those who might also conduct research in the field of Psychology of Health and Wellbeing in other contexts at Iscte.
  • To foster networking opportunities, encouraging the establishment of professional connections and potential research collaborations.

3. Format
The event will feature a two-stage "blitz-style" format. First, each presenter will have a very short time to orally present the key points of their research poster to a larger audience (with 1-2 slides, if desired). Students should deliver a one-minute trailer for their poster, compellingly presenting its key message to spark interest and encourage the audience to explore their poster afterward. Then, at a second stage, posters will be displayed throughout the venue, allowing for informal discussions and networking opportunities over lunchtime.
